Trouble and Trauma in Spain

Just returned back from my trip to Spain together with my dad. Our departure from Rotterdam Airport with the PH-XRV was very exiting and halfway, just passing Valencia heavy turbulence woke me up. Hated it. Half a hour later we landed at Alicante Elche Airport. The third time for me this year. The first few days were sunny but rain and wind and made the sun dissapear. No worries, we had a good time. Did'nt had a really good sleep though. The 4th night i did'nt slept at all. Being a zombie we decided to go out to eat before having a siesta.

The night after that i woke up at around 5 o'clock. I decided to go to the bathroom and saw that my aunt was awake in her bedroom. Winds were making noice throuh little holes in the doors and windows. Not bothering me... except keeping me out of my sleep. I walked back passing my dad who was sleeping in front of me. Our beds were after each other placed at the terrace, closed with big windows, looking overseas. i noticed a wet floor. Picked up my shoes and placed them where it was dry... I also saw my hoodie lying in the water. This wasnt good but i heard that water inside was normal because they were not used to much rain. The winds were hearable and the rain was normal to heavy and there were some thunderstorms. I picked my hoodie up and placed it over the edge of my bed to dry. I looked up and heard a horrible sound. There are 20 big windows placed around the terrace, and i saw 2 of them coming lose and smashing into my dad, who was sleeping. I started screaming. Screaming so damn loud. My shoes were wet so i coulnd get them on and walked over the smashed windows with my bare feet to reach my dad, still screaming. He didn't respond. I was prepared for the worst. The only thing i saw was broken glass and rain, which caused a lot of water. I managed to reached close to my dad and grabbed his hand. I stopped screaming when he said: 'i'm oke... it's ok'. I ran of the terrace and heard my aunt screaming in her bedroom. She was holding her window with all her force, just pushing her body against her bed to hold it. I closed her door so she could let go of the window. We tried to secure it but it did not work. I reopened the door because i wanted to see my dad, who got out underneath al the glass. I saw he was bleeding. He came into my aunts bedroom and closed the window. We then closed all the doors we had, just to decrese more damage. I was really a zombie. Had no color on my cheeks and was in shock. I was lucky to sleep with some clothes on which protected me, but my dad was almost sleeping naked. Fortunally he only cut his hand from getting himself out of trouble. He was sleeping on a foldable bed. Which had a wooden board at the top of his head which broke the glass. I thought the double glass hit his head. Because of my dad being on blood medicine, his blood is really thin and running fast. When it became light we saw that almost every corner of the house was covered in blood. Scary thing to see. When you experience something like that, you first think you're the only one. Untill we got outside. The 4 apartments at the seaside were hit. Some of the neighbours had all the windows being smashed out. Few moments later we heard that a tornado hit our appartment blocks and caused all the damage. I never cried so hard. The only thing i wanted to do was going home safe, but we couldn't, yet. We were flying the day after. I made a horrible decision to let my aunt behind with neighbours and friends close to the apartment and to go to a nearby airport hotel with my dad. I did'nt felt safe in and nearby the appartment. We both haven't slept at all that night and were happy to see our plane home. The 2h flight which was an experience for both, didn't turned out to be a happy flight.

We both wanted to go home. I've saved some pictures i found online and some pictures i made myself.
