Dubai day 4: Flying an Airbus!

Day 4 was our shopping for home and get some souvenir day! We also had planned to fly the Airbus A380 that afternoon. But first we had a good night sleep untill late in the morning. The day before we had to get up early and we were tired as hell. We took at 12:30 our shuttle to the Dubai Mall.

We shopped around and finally we saw the Emirates Airline store. I love those things. They had massive, little (oh confusing) scale models and in every livery! It is that i already got one. They got some great stuff for kids also. I bought some cufflinks for my suite. It are tiny airplanes, but so cute, and a ping sports bag! This bag is new in the Emirates line and i'm one of the first to have it :).

We walked further under the 100ths of little parasols they hang at the ceiling. On our way to the Souk. That's where al the gold is sold and the surroundings are very arabic. We walked around but the gold price is still high. We had seen lots of beautiful things but decided to buy nothing.

My boyfriend is crazy about scooby doo. He's looking around for a new friend ... but we came accros the lego store. They sell scooby doo lego out here! He didn't wanted to buy it immediatly and we walked further. After seeing it for the 5th time, i told him to buy it. You're here only once!

Our stomache began to make some noice. Time to eat some. We walked by an American dinner restaurant earlier on and we walked back. They had some good food in a nice American style decorated restaurant. We had to eat something before we could fly the biggest passengerplane in the world right ;).

After that we walked to the simulator. Which is a big nose of an Airbus A380. We were not ready to check in yet so we went again into the Emirates store to buy an 'inflight photo'. A photo of us in the simulator.

Then it was our time to fly. The question came: 'Have you ever flown before?'. Yes we did.. the B737. Then this was a piece of cake he told us. I could choose from an airport to depart from. Offcourse i choose Amsterdam in clear weather. I dont like clouds and rain offcourse ;).

We were coached by someone from east europe. We had a good chat about everything about the A380. I took off from 36C and flew to Rotterdam. Reached my hometown i turned the massive airbus around. Without any help i putted the gear out again and landed safely on Schiphol.

Then it was Rob's turn. He departed from Amsterdam and he choosed to land at New York, JFK, maybe our next long haul destination. He also managed to get the airplane down. This simulator isnt as realistic as the one we did in Lelystad. This simulator is more for fun. We had a long talk after we stopped flying but we had to go futher because we didn't had any souvenirs yet!

We walked by a cute story at the second day were they sold puppets. Puppets with sjeiks and camels. We bought a few for our loved ones at home. It was almost 6'o clock. The dubai fountain would start. So we walked off to the dubai fountain and watched the show. 15 minutes later the led show on the Burj started to show!

After that we were again exhausted. We walked back into the mall and found the Taxi pick up. After waiting in a long row we got a taxi. The taxi driver came from Ethiopia and was a very nice man. We had a great talk about some topics and he dropped us at our hotel.

For once, and the last time i wanted to shower at the rooftop looking over Dubai, so we did. As it was planned when i turned off the shower some fireworks started. We watched it for a few moments and went down to our room.

The hand of my boyfriends were itchy because the lego box was watching him... We bould the mystery machine together <3. We packed some stuff because we were going to leave again the day after. Dubai, everything is possible there !
