Dubai: Day 2, looking around

Waking up at around 7 o'clock UAE time, the sun was already up. Knowing it was 4 o'clock where our family and friends were. We decided to explore the city around to get used to the things they do here.

It was already becoming hot. 24 degrees! At the hotel we had a whirlpool and swimming pool on the rooftop. It was closed when we came in so we wanted to see what's like and took the elivator to the 4th floor. WAUW. Amazing view over Dubai and it's skyline and at the other side we could see a piece of the Airport. My love.. i said. 'I want to spend the evening here tonight'. We both agreed about that.

Our shuttle bus was going at 9:30 to the Dubai Mall and Burj Kalifa. We decided to take that bus. It was about a 30min drive and what a traffice. My work invited me to come over to Dubai to work for a year, but i can't promise them i wont crash my car. It's messy and everyone is driving fast. From the shuttle we could see the surroundings and the tall buildings are allover. The heat? It's even for us quite good to handle. The humidity is different.

When we arrived at the Dubai Mall we were amazed about how big everything was. We walked around as little puppets and explored almost every corner. We suprised ourselves about being a big theme park inside the mall. Because they can. Also in the Dubai Mall there's a ice skate. It's cool to see people in arabic clothes ice skating behind a pinguin or snowmenn when it's outside 28 degrees celcius. You can buy everything you want around there. It's enormous and we knew that we had to come back on the 4th day of our trip. The Emirates A380 experience is placed in that mall.

We didn't have any breakfast booked but bought us our own breakfast and took it to our hotel room. That was more cheap and we could choose ourselfs! We also visited the Dubai Aquarium. But it's so much more then only fish. They also have owls and crocodiles! A complete ZOO inside a mall!!

After walking around inside i wanted to take a look outside. Behind the mall you have the Dubai fountains. That's where the shows are given with the water and the Burj is placed. Also the Adress hotel is standing next to it. It's completly burned... it had a great fire on newyearseve. We walked around there and amazed us about how high the Burj is in real. We walked further on and had a seat next to the road.

We did some car spotting. Some cars are normal which are special to us. Just as my work, you'll get used to every car when you see them a lot. Even a Mercedes G class isn't any special out there. We walked back and decided it was enough for day one. We took the Metro home to Terminal 3 and our shuttle bus was going to drive off. We waved friendly and he stopped to pick us up. Time for some relax and some sleep.
