Dubai Day 3: Meeting Cathy

There was no time to relax at the morning of day 3: We planned to go to the Palm! Aquaventure park. The biggest water park in Europe and Asia. We packed our bags and took an early buss to Emirates Metro to take the Metro to Damac. It's about a hour trip with the Metro and we had to switch to the Tram. We drove to Dubai Marina to the base of the Palm. After a good walk we reached Gateway station. The beginning of the monorail to the end of the island.

After we didn't have enough cash money to pay for the tickets for the monorail we changed money with one of the helpers around there. He was amazed to see european money. We recieved the tickets from him and the rail was about to departure in 10 minutes.

Every 15 minutes one of the mono rails depart from the Gateaway station. You can feel this is very populair by tourist. A big group of Japanese or Chinese people disturbed our lovely morning. The monorail was packed up and they were making a lot of noice. Please i hope this ride wouldn't take to long...

It was breathtaking to see the coastline and the end of the Palm coming near. The waterpark is big. really big. We had already booked and recieved our wristbands very quick. We had to be at Dolphins bay at around 2 o'clock. It was now around 11... The park just opened. We changed clothes and decided to walk to the most populair place of the park: the pyramid. There is the famous 'Shark Dive' in which you can go with a tube through the aquarium where there are some sharks. We did that twice and the crew around the park are quite helpfull.If you are a woman haha. They treat you like a queen.

After that we decided to take the lazy river around the park to see some of it. It turned out not to be a lazy thing to do. With lots of waves we had a lot of fun going forwards. Then we saw something on our right. The only thing extra was that you had to be taller then 120cm. We both were so we decided to go right. There was a man standing there helping us around, though i couldn't understand him but i was drifting further. Where i was drifting, it was very thight and the water very undeep. There was no stream ... my boyfriend decided to stand up and push me forward. It went on for a couple of 100 meters.. we thought: where are we? what's going to happen? Finally after a corner there was something. You know the elevators? This was one without the steps... going into the great pyramid. My boyfriend wasn't very pleased but he had no way to escape. We went up and around a corner. The man there told me to hold on thight. i did. That was a great suprise but a lot of fun!

From all the water, you get hungry. We dumped our tubes and walked around for the great restaurant. We had an amazing, but expensive meal. It was also quite a lot... It was around 1 o'clock and we walked to Dolphin Bay to check us in. Swimming with Dolphins is something i wanted to do for a long time. I could 10 years ago but the activity was cancelled. We got a kind of pager and when this went off we could go inside to change our clothes.

After half a hour the pager went off and we got inside. We had to change into our wetsuits, which are amazingly thight, and gather around by the dolphin trainer. We first got a introduction about the dolphins and how to handle them. Afterwards we were going to the bay...

We were divided in little groups of 5, and each of us had to meet 1 dolphin. Ours was Cathy. A nice girl from 6 years old. We first could met her in the undeep part of the bay. We could touch her and hear her making her famous sounds. After that we first had, one for one, a ride by 2 dolphins. Holding on their backs you were pulled around in the water at high speed. Wauw. After that we got a body board and had to strech one leg. Cathy was pushing on your feet and so pushing you around through the water. Amazing feeling. After that we thanked cathy by giving her a hugg and kissing her. Dolphins are amazing creatures and i don't believe this harms the animals. They can swim free afterwards in seawater coming from the Gulf. It was an amazing experience.

After this we changed our clothes. It was around 4. We walked around the park to get some pictures of the beach. It's beautiful with his vieuw over Dubai city. At the beach we took one of the golf karts back to the entrance. What an amazing place!

We decided to go to the Emirates mall. To look around there. It was on our way back home. There you find the massive ski facility. It's crazy.. but a nice view to watch. We didn't walked around for to long. We were tired and our feet were hurting. Taxi's are also a good way to travel around. We waited in line and got a taxi driver who was driving amazingly fast. From the Taxi we got a preview of the Burj led show.

At the hotel we didn't got into the whirlpool. We had seen enough water for today....
